1. Bird flu. It reminds me of the y2k bug, the hurricanes in US etc. Officials responsible tend to exaggerate the number of expected victims, so that they would not be blamed when the number is under-estimated. Besides, lives may be saved when people take extra caution because of the numbers.

2. BT Big Crook case. The magistrate may hv made mistakes in para.21 and 33 of the judgment. In para.21, "Even if all the connected downloaders have between them got all the necessary packets which together would make a viewable film, the seeder computer, with the whole file installed, must remain connected,"
But as far as I know, the seeder needs not be connected when all the necessary packets together would make a viewable film.
In para.33, "distribution" may not have been properly distinguished from "making available".
